The 240 has the largest tooth available in a sanded pastel paper. Though it may be a bit more challenging at first using black pastel paper as a surface for your next painting can be a fun. The 7 grades vary from very coarse to very fine but all grades can take numerous layers of pastel. The 280 and 320 are great for the artist that wants a little extra layering. But i ve read this from other artists and they agree that uart dark alone just isn t sufficient to produce the depth.
